What is medical transcription? |

Medical transcription is the process whereby one accurately and swiftly transcribes medical records dictated by doctors and others, including history and physical reports, clinic notes, office notes, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, letters, psychiatric evaluations, laboratory reports, x-ray reports and pathology reports. |

How much does a medical transcript cost? |

It usually costs anywhere from 10 cents to 12 cents per line. A line has an average of 65 characters per line. We count the total number of characters by clicking on Tools | Word count in MS Word. The price depends on the dictation method, volume and type of medical transcript. |

How and when do I submit my dictations? |
| A. |
a) Dictations can be submitted using a Digital Hand-held recorder which would be transmitted electronically to us.
b) The second option would be using a toll-free number which you can call at anytime.
You can submit your dictations anytime 24/7. However, our cut-off time to receive dictations during any business day is up to 9:00 pm central standard time which means that if you wish to receive your transcriptions back next morning, you should submit the dictations to our system at most by 9:00 pm cst. The dictations submitted after 9 PM CST will be treated as they have received next day. |

How is my dictation processed? |

When you sign up, you will be assigned an ID Number to use. When you submit a dictation into our system, your assigned ID Number will automatically receive your dictation for transcription. MT Group consists of medical transcriptionists along with quality assurance supervisor(s), who checks the transcription for accuracy and make the transcription available for electronic pick up. |

How will I receive my documents once transcribed? |

We propose three secure and convenient delivery options. Our recommended option is secure FTP mechanism that puts transcribed reports automatically to your local computer with your sign-in. You can then view and print your transcriptions. You can also receive your documents by E-mail or fax. It is entirely up to you. |

How do I open the transcripts I downloaded? |

The transcribed documents are returned in standard Microsoft Word format. This standard file type can be opened using virtually any word processing program. |

What Turnaround times do you offer? |

Our standard turnaround times are 12-24 hours. STAT turnaround time is up to 4 hours. (See 3 for dictations cut-off time) |

How do I began dictating and what do you recommend I use to dictate my reports? |

You have the choice between using the digital hand-held recorder or toll free access telephone number, the choice is yours. On the digital hand-held recorder we recommend using the Olympus DSS Player DS-330. If you decide to use the toll free access telephone to dictate, any standard telephone set can be used.

Our hours for live technical support are from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm central standard time. However, your files are accessible via the internet 24/7, 365 days a year. |
