Zuckerberg, CEO of facebook, has set a team of 80 or so developers with the task of creating an app store that will work from within the Safari browser, effectively bypassing the App Store altogether. This move is intended to weaken Apple's stranglehold on the mobile apps market. With 700 million users logging into Facebook on a daily basis, Zuckerberg wants to rock Apple's App Store dominance.

But the question is will he succeed? To get a good slice of app store market from Apple and Android, facebook has to make buying and using the app a seamless experience from within a browser. Writing apps for mobile browsers has limitations compared to writing apps for iOS or Android directly. This facebook's project is code named as Spartan. Facebook also has hired Teck Chia , who was the founder and CEO of OpenAppMkt.com, and is considered to be the brain behind HTML5 Appstore. Within few weeks, facebook will release its framework for apps that would use social hooks and work inside of Facebook's ecosystem.
